It’s a miracle 19-year-old Tenzin Nordon is even here.

Now, a senior at Loyola Academy and a resident of Chicago’s Rogers Park, Nordon is applying to colleges — Mount Holyoke College in South Hadley, Mass., an all girls schools — and she hopes to study math. She plays piano and has tried her hand at guitar, violin and even kickboxing. In a maroon and gold Loyola sweater, she smiles as she talks about all the things she still wants to try to do in life.
