The Chinese New Year begins on Thursday, Feb. 19, and Mandarin students from Highcrest, Wilmette Junior High and New Trier came to the Wilmette Public Library Saturday, Feb. 14, to teach folks about this important Chinese holiday.

Through skits, songs, dances and stories students welcomed in the Year of the Goat, honoring a holiday that comes with many customs and superstitions.
