Love is in the air at The Wilmette Beacon, and we want to hear how you met your special someone in time for Valentine’s Day.

We know your love story one of your favorites to share, so we’re asking you to spill all the lovey-dovey details of how your relationship started.

And with Valentine’s Day right around the corner, what better way to warm the community’s hearts than with the one-of-a-kind history of you and your valentine?

The Wilmette Beacon is hosting its annual How We Met Contest, and of course, we want you to enter. The rules are simple: Just write up your love story of how you met your valentine in 400 words or less and email it to Editor Eric DeGrechie at eric@wilmettebeacon.com.

We’ll also accept entries via U.S. mail to The Wilmette Beacon, 60 Revere Drive, Suite 888, Northbrook IL, 60062. The only restriction is that you must live in Wilmette or Kenilworth.

The deadlines for submissions this year is Friday, Feb. 7, giving all you romantics four full weeks to craft your story and send it to us.

Don’t forget to include a photo of the both of you together so we can see the happy couple. And remember to also attach your names along with a phone number and email address so we can reach you.

The winner of this year’s How We Met Contest will receive a prize from a local business, and the winning story will be printed in the Feb. 13 issue of The Beacon — along with the photo — just before the special day.

So if you think you’ve got a great love story to share with us, send it to The Beacon and warm our hearts for a chance to win!
