Though summer isn’t officially over, with school back in session, it feels like it is. We hope you all had a wonderful summer and were able to hit the road for a fun vacation.

Per usual, we received an abundance of great entries in our annual Family Vacation Photo Contest.

At the beginning of August, we started receiving entries for the seventh edition of this contest. Entries were due on Aug. 30. We had a difficult time selecting a winner. In the end, we chose a photo sent in from Jennifer Jacobsen, of Wilmette. Jacobsen and her family went to the Philippines on a cultural and historical tour. The last leg of the tour was spent at El Nido, Palawan, which according to Jacobsen is “known around the world for its fabulous beaches. In the winning photo, Lara Jacobsen, 15, and her father, Neal, are shown zip lining from one island to another.

Congratulations to our winner, who will receive a custom-framed print (a $200 value) from Wilmette’s H. Marion Framing Studio, 3232 Lake Ave., in Edens Plaza. H. Marion Framing Studio has been a generous sponsor of this contest for a number of years. Thanks for all the wonderful submissions.
